HYOHI is a wearable sensing layer that allows you to approach your wellbeing holistically. Flexible biosensors allow you to track your vitamin and hormone levels along with other biometrics in an easy plug & play way.  

By offering a wide range of compatible sensors online, HYOHI becomes a  dynamic system, offering continuous value to the user.

WHAT:

 

Together with Toyoshima, the fashion company responsible for the 30% of Japanese clothing, we explored the future of wearable technology in 2030. Two concept ideas were developed, HYŌHI & VIBE in collaboration with Professors from the University of Tokyo.

INSIGHT

The market of wearables is expected to grow by 15% a year until 2030. Currently different wearables are being produced to measure different biometrics leading to a segmented image of wellbeing and a huge amount of waste since technology is progressing rapidly.  

OPPORTUNITY

HYOHI suggests the shift from the market of wearables to the market of sensors. The wearable becomes the technology hub and the touch point of a bigger online system.

THE PROCESS

DESIGNING WITH THE CLIENTS

 

Co- creation sessions and workshops with the clients were held to define the starting points of the research, evaluate the concepts and decide the ones to develop.

 

PRIMARY & SECONDARY RESEARCH

Desk, market and field research was conducted to define trends, promising technology of the future and get user insights

I met with various experts of the fashion industry, wearable tech and scientists to understand better the challenges and next steps in the industry. 

 

DESIGN CONCEPTS AS CONVERSATION STARTERS 

The design concept was used as design probe at the final exhibition to get quantitative data from users.
